Energy Based Devices/

Relaxing Wrinkles and Lines/

Injectable muscle relaxants work by relaxing the facial muscles that contracts and cause wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines and lines around the eyes (crow’s feet).  It can also be used in the lower face to relax the chin, tighten the jawline and prevent teeth grinding.

When the purified protein is injected into the muscles it blocks the nerve signals that would normally make these muscles contract, resulting in a relaxed, youthful look. Fine lines will gradually smooth and ongoing treatments will help prevent wrinkles from forming again.

As we age, our expression (dynamic) lines become deeper and stronger– eventually, lines become permanent (static)–due to the forces of the muscle contraction on the skin over time.

Dr Ansulette shows Anti Wrinkle Injection Areas

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Forehead Lines

Forehead lines can be tricky to treat as the muscle responsible for causing these lines is also responsible for raising the eyebrows. This means that too much relaxation can cause the brow to drop, a complication that can be avoided by experienced injectors.
At YC we will first do a thorough assessment to determine whether this treatment is the right one for you. if suitable for treatment, we will place muscle relaxing injections very carefully in order to relax the lines without compromising the position of the brow. Depending on the starting position of the brow, the result to aim for in some might be more of a ‘softening’ of the lines, rather than a completely ‘smooth’ look. To achieve the best results without the brow looking or feeling ‘heavy’, we prefer to also treat the frown muscles, as well as the muscles under the eyebrow responsible for pulling the brow down. This will protect the brow from dropping and in some allow it to sit higher, to open the eyes for a refreshed yet natural look.

Brow Lift/Eyebrow Shaping

As we age our brows tend to droop over time, partly because of skin laxity and gravity, but also as a result of the action of the Orbicularis Occuli muscle around the eye, pulling the brow downwards. Carefully placed anti-wrinkle injections can relax the depressors around the eyes which in turn allow the brow elevators to lift the brow higher.

Frown Lines

Frown lines are caused by 3 powerful muscles pulling inwards and downwards. For many people frowning becomes a habit (some people even frown in their sleep!) – causing lines that make them look worried and stressed even when they are not. Treating the frown with muscle relaxing injections can help to break the habit, and relaxing these muscles results in softening of the lines as well as slight elevation of the brow medially – giving a fresh and relaxed look.

Crow’s Feet

The Orbicularis Occuli muscle around the eye is responsible for the wrinkles around our eyes when we squint or smile. Carefully place injections around the eyes will relax this muscle, which in turn relaxes the lines, and creates a fresh look.

Bunny Lines

The fine lines that develop over the bridge of the nose as we squint (or in some people when they smile) can be prevented or relaxed with carefully placed injections on the nose.

Gummy Lines

Occasionally the upper lip lifts excessively with smiling – causing a ‘gummy’ smile (showing too much gum above the teeth) A tiny dose of muscle relaxant can relax the muscle that lifts the lip too high.

Dimply Chin and Mental Crease

Relaxing the mentalis muscle will improve the appearance of the mental crease, and prevent the popply chin look.

Jaw Line Definition/Nerfertiti

Carefully placed muscle relaxant injections on the jawline decrease the depressor effect (pulling down) of the platysma muscle and allows the skin to drape over the jaw bone in a more defined way.

Facial slimming/Prominent Masseters/Teeth Grinding

If you grind your teeth the chances are that you will have hypertrophy of the masseter muscle (you can feel this muscle by biting down on your teeth and feeling the corner of your jaw). Large masseters can lead to a more masculine look by creating a square facial shape. Carefully injecting muscle relaxants into the masseter muscles will prevent or decrease teeth grinding and reshape the face to achieve a more flattering oval appearance.

Neck Bands

Injections into prominent bands will relax them and soften the appearance of the neck.

Sweat Reduction Injections /Axillary Hyperhidrosis

Many people suffer from excessive underarm sweating which can be embarrassing and debilitating. Injections into the armpits will relieve excessive sweating for 6-9 months.

What are the contra-indications?

Anti Wrinkle injections cannot be used if you:
Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Allergic to any of the ingredients in the product
Have neuromuscular junction disorders (myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert syndrome)
Have infection at the injection site
Antiwrinkle injections are safe if administered in the correct manner by a skilled medical professional in those without any contra-indications. At YC we will assess your suitability for this treatment and discuss both the risks and benefits so that you can make an informed decision.

The result is not permanent because the nerve ending re-establishes its signalling by forming new nerve sprouts. This sprouting takes approximately 3-4 months, at which point the muscle regains its activity and the wrinkles begin to reappear.

The procedure is quick and consists of a few injections administered with a small needle after the skin is cleaned. Discomfort is minimal, and no local anaesthetic is required.

Pre treatment prep:
If possible, avoid blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, fish oil, alcohol etc) for 1-2 weeks before treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores and are expecting treatment close to lips, start lyscine 5- 7 days days prior, and continue for 3-5 days post treatment.

Post treatment aftercare:

It’s normal to experience some mild redness, swelling and tenderness around the injection sites that generally settle within 5-15 minutes.

Occasionally there might be tiny red dots or bruising around the sites that last for longer. These temporary, minor side effects depend on the sensitivity of your skin and certain medications (like fish oil, anti inflammatories and other blood thinners- best avoided for 7 -10 days prior to treatment if possible, can be resumed the day after).

Some might experience a mild headache that should settle with Panadol and/or Ibuprofen.

For the first hour afterwards, it’s good to animate regularly (i.e. frown, smile, raise brows) to help the treatment to be taken up faster.

Do not massage or apply pressure to the treatment areas for 24 -48 hours post treatment, and avoid treatments that require facial pressure for at least a week (facials, massages where you lie face down, waxing, brow/lash treatments etc).
Avoid dermal treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin needling or dermal rolling for at least two weeks, more invasive lasers for 4 weeks.

Avoid vigorous exercise and/or any exercise that involves inverted poses (e.g. yoga, Pilates) for at least 24 hours post treatment.
Avoid lying down for 4 hours, and avoid flying for 12 hours if possible.

Expect to start feeling the effect within 3-5 days, with the full effect visible at two weeks. We will touch base around the 2-week mark to review results – if it’s your first treatment we encourage an in person follow up appointment to assess the results and tweak if necessary.

For subsequent return treatments we still encourage photos to be taken around the 2 week mark for the treatment record, to assess and track the treatment result and longevity.

Rebook for treatment within 3 to 4 months to maintain results.

Facial Volume/Support

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler is a gel made up of hyaluronic acid chains (like sugar chains) similar to the chains in the collagen of your skin. Injecting the gel correctly can instantly refresh and rejuvenate your appearance by smoothing unwanted lines, restoring natural contours and replacing lost volume.

Fillers can also be used to enhance some of your facial features, such as lips and cheeks. With subtle and strategically placed injections, the gel will contour and define lips and cheeks, at the same time keeping your appearance natural-looking, symmetrical and well-balanced.

HA filler will naturally break down over time but can be dissolved if needed. There are a variety of HA fillers on the market with different properties and longevity. At YC we will choose the most appropriate filler for your bespoke treatment plan.

As we age, the underlying fat and bone of the face slowly starts to shrink and recede. As a result, our skin loses its support structure and sags. Strategic placement of fillers to address these underlying changes can restore lost volume and give support, slowing the ageing process and giving a non-surgical ‘lift’.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Wrinkles and or Lines

The injectable gel is placed below the skin’s surface to literally ‘fill in’ or ‘plump up’ the static wrinkles and folds that are present at rest. This diminishes the depth of wrinkles and creates a smoother more refreshed facial appearance.

Feeling Saggy

Ageing affects all the layers of our face, not just the skin. Apart from changes in our fat pads (deflation, sagging), there is significant bone resorption (loss) which results in less support to the overlying soft tissues. Almost like a shrinking table with a loose tablecloth. By carefully choosing the right filler for the right area, we can provide strength in areas lacking support, and by reinflating the fat pads, we restore youthful curves for a fresh yet natural result.

Lack of definition and/or imperfections

Carefully placed injections can hide imperfections like a bumpy nose or a weak chin, whilst other injections can be used to add definition and/or create harmony and balance.

Preventing Ageing

Small amounts of filler placed in the correct way can protect against the formation of permanent lines, especially around the lips and mouth. Don’t wait until it’s too late – protect your smile from the inside out.

Lip lines and/or volume loss

Carefully placed filler injections will volumise, restore and rejuvenate your lips so that you can keep wearing your favourite lippy without worrying about lipstick bleeding. The natural-looking results will also help maintain facial balance and harmony, often compromised by the signs of ageing.

Hand Rejuvenation

Apart from the face and neck, the hand is the most visible unclothed area of the body, and often the first area to show the signs of ageing.
We might notice pigmentation and thinning skin, as well as prominent veins, joints and tendons due to the loss of soft tissue volume. Volume restoration can be achieved by carefully injecting dermal fillers into the affected areas, providing rejuvenation in an instant. Prescription creams can address the superficial skin concerns.

What are the contra-indications?

Filler injections cannot be used if you:
Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Have an infection at the injection site
Have untreated Epilepsy
Have a tendency to develop Hypertrophic Scarring
Have Porphyria

At YC we will assess your suitability for filler treatment and discuss both the risks and benefits so you can make an informed decision.

There are many different fillers available. Depending on the type of filler chosen, the area to be treated and some individual variations, they can last from 6 months to over 24 months. In some facial areas, the filler can last longer as it works against gravity by giving deeper structural support.

Treatments with fillers are non-surgical, and generally quick, simple and comfortable due to the inclusion of lidocaine – a localized pain reliever.

The treatment involves subtle and strategically placed injections under the skin to restore and boost individual facial features. Some patients may experience a mild stinging or burning sensation as the product is injected. This is reduced significantly by the application of a cooling device and/or anaesthetic cream before treatment.

Results are visible immediately but will settle in and improve over the following days as the gel integrates with the skin.

There is a small risk of bruising and swelling – our general advice is to do fillers at least 2 weeks prior to any special event, to ensure the treatment has time to settle.

Prices depend on the number of syringes we use, generally from around $700 per syringe for 1 syringe, down to $550 per syringe for 4, or $500 per syringe when doing 5 or more.

At Youthful Concepts we believe its best to start with smaller amounts, even if you are quoted 5 or more syringes we prefer to do this over 2 or 3 sessions to achieve gradual results. We guarantee natural results, so no need to fear Chipmunk cheeks or Ducky lips.

Pre treatment prep:

If possible, avoid blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, fish oil, alcohol etc) for 1-2 weeks before treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores and expecting treatment close to lips, start lyscine 5- 7 days days prior, and continue for 3-5 days post-treatment. We might advise taking oral Famvir on the treatment day if you are at higher risk.

Post: aftercare

Side effects vary between patients and treatments – you may not have any side effects, or you may experience some redness, tenderness, lumps/bumps, swelling and occasionally bruising at the treatment sites. Expect this to start settling within 1-2 days, but it may take 2-3 weeks to fully settle.

You can take an antihistamine for swelling and apply Hirudoid ointment (available OTC at pharmacies) to bruising 4-5 times per day to speed up recovery.

If you suffer from cold sores its recommend that you use Lyscine for 5 days post treatment and if you are very prone to cold sores and having a lip treatment, we recommend a stat dose of Famvir (1500mg) on the treatment day.

Avoid massaging and/or excessive pressure on the treatment area for 24-48 hours, sleep on your back for the first 1-2 nights post treatment, if possible.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, UV light, freezing temperatures or using saunas or Turkish baths for 2 weeks post treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise and/or any exercise that involves inverted poses (eg yoga, pilates) for at least 24 hours.

Avoid flying for 12 hours, best to avoid international travel for at least 2 weeks.

Avoid dermal treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin needling or dermal rolling for at least two weeks, more invasive lasers for 4 weeks.

Avoid dental work for 6-8 weeks post treatment, or in unavoidable please contact us for a script for prophylactic antibiotics.

If possible, avoid make-up for 12 hours post treatment, or ensure its new mineral make up applied with clean hands.

We will check in the day after treatment, and we require photos of any bruising to give advice accordingly. Around the 2 week mark we will check in again to ensure everything settled well.

While the effects of the treatments will gradually decrease over time, the treatments usually last up to 12-18 months. To maintain benefits of your treatment, it is recommended that you attend a review appointment in 6 months’ time.

Skin Hydration/

Our skin contains collagen, elastin and reticular fibres that give the skin its strength and flexibility. Hyaluronic acid also plays an essential role in the way our skin looks, feels and functions. It retains water like a sponge, helping to hydrate our skin, improving overall appearance.

As we age, our hyaluronic acid and collagen production slows down – causing the skin to lose elasticity and hydration. This leads to thinning of the skin, fine lines, and enlarged pores. Skin becomes dull and might feel rough, dry and even leathery.

Skin boosters were specifically designed to address skin elasticity and hydration, to repair the damage and improve skin quality.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Poor skin quality and elasticity
Rough skin texture
Dry, sensitive skin
Enlarged pores
Crepey skin
Fine Lines

What are the contra-indications?

Skin Booster treatment cannot be used if you:

Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding

Have an infection at the injection site

Have untreated Epilepsy

Have a tendency to develop Hypertrophic Scarring

Have Porphyria

Skin boosters were designed to improve skin quality, but most don’t last longer than a few weeks. Dr Ansulette uses the latest skin booster to the market, an innovative injectable treatment designed to improve skin quality for up to 9 months after only one treatment session by delivering hyaluronic acid directly into the skin’s dermis.

The Hyaluronic acid works as a magnet for moisture, which improves skin smoothness (absence of fine lines), hydration and elasticity – resulting in plump and healthy-looking skin. It is suitable for treating the face, neck, décolletage and hands of all ages and any skin types, including sensitive, breakout-prone or oily skin.

Skin boosters will not change your appearance, and it is purely to improve skin quality – so it’s a safe entry point for those new to injectables who might feel a bit nervous about treatments.

One treatment lasts 6 to 9 months after which your treatment can be repeated.

The treatment consists of a number of superficial injections administered with tiny needles across the treatment areas in a grid like fashion. Dr Ansulette uses topical anaesthetic to minimize discomfort, and lidocaine within the skin booster provide further comfort. The actual treatment typically is around 30 minutes, but appointment time is longer to allow for pre-treatment questions, numbing procedures, and post-procedure care.

There is a small risk of bruising and swelling, and some bumps might take a few hours to settle. Results will become visible around 10-14 days and will improve over the first month. Dr Ansulette’s general advice is to do skin booster treatments at least 2 weeks prior to any special event, to ensure the treatment has time to settle.

Is it safe?

Yes, administered in the correct manner by a skilled professional the treatment carries little risk if there are no contra-indications to treatment. Dr Ansulette Kay will assess your suitability for skin booster treatments and discuss the relevant risks and benefits so you can make an informed choice.

Bio Remodelling/

The first of its kind, Profhilo is a revolutionary ‘hybrid’ Hyaluronic Acid (HA) injectable treatment. With the unique combination of high and low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid (HA), it acts as both a skin hydrator, as well as a bio-remodeling agent within the areas it is injected into, ‘resetting’ the biological clock in our cells.

It is injected superficially in 10 points across the face from where it spreads to increase skin hydration, as well as stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin. Doing so improves skin texture, reduces lines, increases tightness and overall boosts skin quality and glow.

Since its launch in Italy in 2015, it has won several prizes and millions of treatments have been performed worldwide, and it has finally arrived in Australia in 2022!

As we age, our hyaluronic acid and collagen production slows down – causing the skin to lose elasticity and hydration. This leads to thinning of the skin, fine lines, and enlarged pores. Skin becomes dull and might feel rough, dry and even leathery.

Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin – perfect for that healthy glow in younger skin; it also remodels ageing and sagging tissue – treating skin laxity. Regardless of age, everyone will see a difference with Profhilo.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Fine Lines, wrinkles, crepey skin
Poor skin quality and elasticity
Rough skin texture, Enlarged pores
Dry, sensitive skin

What are the contra-indications?

Profhilo can not be used if you are:
Allergic to any of its components
Pregnant
Breastfeeding

Profhilo generally lasts 6 -9 months if 2 treatments are given 1 month apart, our initial treatment cost includes both treatments. We recommend maintaining results with 1 syringe every 6-9 months, but some patients might want to do it more often, whilst others might choose to do it once a year.

Longevity will depend on several factors, including age, pre-existing skin quality and sun damage, medical history/medications, and lifestyle factors such sun exposure and smoking.

On the day we will remove make up from the areas to be injected and use a tiny needle to inject the product under the skin. There are five injection sites on each side of the face or neck, and small lumps will occur before gradually spreading through the skin. The lumps generally disappear within minutes, but can remain visible for up to 24 hours in the face, 48 in the neck.

The initial treatment consists of 2 syringes spaced 1 month apart, and the initial treatment costs include both treatments.

Cost is $1600 for face OR neck with Nurse Idelette, then $850 per syringe for maintenance.

Cost is $1700 for face OR neck with Dr Ansulette, then $900 per syringe for maintenance.

Double Chin Treatment/

The active ingredient is synthesized deoxycholic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. The revolutionary injectable product effectively destroys fat cells when injected into the fat beneath your chin, resulting in a firmer, sleeker, and more youthful neck contour.

Once destroyed, the results are permanent. These cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin, revealing an improved chin profile and a more defined jawline.  Although it is only FDA approved to be used under the chin, it can also be used off-label to dissolve fat in other areas.

Do you hate your double chin?
Until recently, the only way of addressing submental fullness in Australia meant surgery. But for those not keen on the idea of liposuction or scalpels, we now have what Hollywood dubbed: ‘lipo in a syringe’. Essentially you need fat for the treatment to work, as opposed to loose or saggy skin.

Those with good skin quality and mild submental fullness are the best candidates for fat dissolving injections.

Read more about this treatment in our Blog.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Dislike your side profile

Feel self-conscious about your chin in photos.

Strike a certain ‘pose’ for pics

Try to hide your double chin with clothing, jewellery, make-up, facial hair, etc.

What are the contra-indications?
Double Chin Injections can not be used if you:
Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Allergic to any of the ingredients in the product
Have infection at the injection site

Fat-dissolving injections are safe if administered correctly by a skilled medical professional in those without any contra-indications. Dr Ansulette Kay will assess your suitability for this treatment and discuss both the risks and benefits so that you can make an informed decision.

The results are permanent. Because the product breaks down the fat cells, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Once your desired results are achieved, further treatments are not expected, and most candidates will need 2 to 4 treatments spaced at least 8 weeks apart.

Results may only become visible after the second treatment, so when considering costs, do keep this in mind. The number of treatments you will need depends on the fullness under your chin.

The actual treatment consists of several injections, customized to suit you, and once the area is numbed, it only takes a few minutes. Dr Ansulette uses both topical and local anaesthetic the ensure that the injections cause minimal discomfort during treatment. Still, the area will be swollen and tender for a few days post-treatment. Swelling is an indication that the treatment is working, and will be very noticeable for the first 3 -7 days.

It is also common to experience bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. We recommend using panadol and ice to reduce this discomfort as needed.

Dr Ansulette often performs double chin treatments on Thursday afternoons or Friday mornings and advises clients to take the weekend ‘off’ as far as work and social functions go unless you are happy to share your treatment journey with others.

It’s best to plan and book the treatment at least four weeks before major social events.

Pre treatment preparation:
If possible, avoid blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, fish oil, alcohol etc) for 1-2 weeks before treatment.

Post treatment aftercare:
Side effects vary between patients and treatments – but we expect to see lots of swelling – it’s a sign the treatment is working. The area may also feel tender or numb, and you may experience some redness, lumps/bumps, and bruising at the treatment sites.

The swelling should start settling around day 7-10, but it may take 2-3 weeks to fully settle.

You can take an antihistamine for swelling and apply Hirudoid ointment (available OTC at pharmacies) to bruising 4-5 times per day to speed up recovery.

Massaging the treatment area can be helpful to improve lympdrainage, and heallite II treatment is recommended to shorten the recovery time.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, UV light, freezing temperatures or using saunas or Turkish baths for 2 weeks post treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise and/or any exercise that involves inverted poses (eg yoga, pilates) for at least 24 hours.

Avoid dermal treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin needling or dermal rolling for at least two weeks, more invasive lasers for 4 weeks.

If possible, avoid make-up for 12 hours post treatment, or ensure its new mineral make up applied with clean hands.

Avoid flying for 12 hours, and international travel for at least 2 weeks.

We will check in the day after treatment, and we require photos of any bruising to give advice accordingly.

The results will only become visible around the 8 week mark, and a minimum of two treatments are generally recommended.

The fat cells that are destroyed will not return, but the remaining fat cells can still expand, so it’s important to maintain healthy lifestyle habits for best results.

Cosmelan - Skin Pigmentation/

Cosmelan is a potent mix of ingredients used to treat and target pigmentation. A cocktail of unique ingredients is applied in a mask formula to directly improve pigmentation. It inhibits both the production and the transfer of melanin pigments. It produces a superficial chemexfoliation (peeling), thereby allowing attenuation and/or removal of superficial hyperpigmentation.

Cosmelan is currently the world’s leading professional depigmentation method, safe for all skin types and tones.

It involves a peel applied in the clinic (cosmelan 1), followed by 30 days of home care (cosmelan two treatment pack) to achieve powerful removal of skin hyperpigmentation.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Stubborn pigmentation or melasma

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Solar and senile lentigo (dark spots from sun exposure)

Post acne discolouration

Freckles

Results will last if clients adhere to the post-treatment plan. It is recommended to continue using home care for at least four months, which may be extended up to 9 months depending on the progression of each individual case. Cosmelan 2 can be used indefinitely with longer intervals between applications to maintain results, but the Cosmelan 1 peel can be repeated once per year if needed.

The mask will feel cool and tingly, and occasionally a bit itchy if it dries out. Once the mask is removed, the skin can feel warm, occasionally feel ‘sunburnt’, and most clients will experience some swelling, then peeling for around 3-5 days. You will receive clear instructions and all the skincare products to use for the 4-6 weeks post the peel.

Results will be visible within 7-10 days, but will be best after 30 days. There will be an improvement of hyperpigmentation, the disappearance of more superficial pigmentation, and improvement in skin quality with the unification of skin tone.

Will it hurt?

The peel itself does not hurt, but the skin will feel sensitive for a few days after the peel, and might sting with the application of creams. Within the treatment pack, you will find creams that will soothe the skin and clear instructions on how to apply use it.

Is it necessary to take any precautions during treatment?

During the first week post-treatment, it is advisable to avoid the following activities: swimming in pools, sauna, exposure to direct heat sources, outdoor sports. Avoid direct sun exposure. The continuous use of a high-filter sunscreen is essential when facing light exposure of any nature, since natural and artificial light can stimulate melanin synthesis.

How long does the treatment take to work?

Results will be visible within 7-10 days, but will be best after 30 days

Is it safe?

Cosmelan has been safely used in over a million procedures worldwide. Some redness and discomfort post peel is expected. There is usually some peeling for 3-5 days, occasionally accompanied by some itching, stinging and tightness.

What are the contra-indications?

Cosmelan cannot be used if you:

Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Have broken or inflamed skin

Have an auto-immune condition affecting the skin

Or on Roaccutane

Mono threads are dissolvable sutures similar to sutures used in surgical procedures in Australia. These smooth biodegradable filaments, coated in (PDO – polydioxanone), are inserted under the skin with thin needles. As they dissolve it stimulates collagen and elastin production, strengthening and tightening the surrounding tissues, which then firms and smooths fine lines, wrinkles and ‘crepey’ skin on the face and neck.

Mono Threads can be used to treat multiple areas of the face and neck, and body. They are ideal for rejuvenating skin by giving support without adding volume, and can be used in conjunction with other treatments like dermal fillers.

As we age our skin goes into a negative collagen balance, which means more collagen is being lost that being produced. Loss of structure and elasticity in the skin results in facial laxity or ‘sagging’, fine lines and wrinkles.
You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Fine lines and wrinkles or ‘crepey skin.’
Marionette line
Nasolabial folds
Jawlines
Smokers lines
Necklines
Acne Scarring

What are the contra-indications?

Mono threads are not suitable if you:
Have broken or inflamed skin
Have auto-immune skin conditions
Have bleeding disorders
Are immunosuppressed
Allergic to polydioxanone
Tend to develop Hypertrophic Scarring

We will assess your suitability for Pdo mono treatment and discuss the relevant risks and benefits so you can make an informed decision.

Once swelling settles the skin will immediately feel more supported, but in general you will begin to see results in 6-8 weeks. Results will continue to improve over 2- 6 months as new collagen is produced – and generally last 9-12 months depending on the natural aging process, lifestyle factors, sun exposure, smoking, and weight loss.

The procedure begins by applying a topical numbing cream 30-45 mins before the treatment to ensure you are conformable throughout the procedure. Several threads are inserted into the skin using small needles. You should feel minimal discomfort throughout the treatment, only minor pinpricks and pressure, we can also inject local anaesthetic if needed.

The treatment time is dependent on how many areas we treat. This will be decided at your initial consultation that takes place prior to the treatment day.

It is important to understand that there is downtime when you have this treatment.

You will likely experience swelling, tenderness, bruising and irregularities in the skin texture. This should settle in a few days but might take longer. We suggest you don’t plan any significant social events within at least two weeks of having this treatment.

Pre treatment preparation:
If possible, avoid blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, fish oil, alcohol etc) for 1-2 weeks before treatment.

If you have a history of cold sores and expecting treatment close to lips, start lyscine 5- 7 days days prior, and continue for 3-5 days post treatment. We might advise taking oral Famvir on the treatment day.

We might suggest that you apply a topical anaesthetic (available without a script – like LMX4, or Numit) to the treatment area 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

Post treatment aftercare:

It is normal to experience swelling, bruising and some discomfort after the treatment, and you may experience some stinging, tight, or pulling feeling in treated areas for up to 2 weeks post procedure, as well as redness, lumps and bumps.

On the day of treatment: Apply a cold compress if required post treatment, Take Panadol or panadeine for pain relief, sleep elevated and on your back, drink plenty of fluids but avoid alcohol and hot drinks.

You can use hirudoid ointment (from chemist) to help dissolve bruising quicker and take antihistamine for swelling. Eat soft foods to avoid excessive chewing for 48 hours post treatment.

Avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours (eg. gym, running, and swimming. Light exercise/walking is ok after 48 hours)

Avoid any activities where treated areas may get contaminated (i.e. sauna, steam rooms, gardening, cleaning) for at least 48 hours.

No dental work for at least 4 weeks after the procedure.

Avoid make up for at least 24 hours

Avoid massages, facials or waxing for at least 2 weeks, No laser treatment within 2-3 months as it can diminish results

Its best to delay flying for at least 12 hours, and avoid international travel for at least 2 weeks

We recommend a series of Heallite Treatments to speed the healing process

Chemical Peels/

Chemical Peels are acidic solutions applied to the skin to deliver various active ingredients to stimulate the skins natural renewal process for smoother, healthy-looking skin. Peels can be classed as superficial, medium depth or deep –the depth of penetration will be determined by the type of acid, the concentration or strength, and the pH of the solution. Resulting wound healing processes begin to regenerate new tissues. This cell turnover will help to restore the skin to a more youthful appearance. It will also ensure that you get the most out of your skincare by optimising absorption of active ingredients.

The potential result of the chemical peel depends on the type of peel and technique used. We offer a variety of chemical peels and will design a program for you based on your skin concerns and skin type. Collagen induction will start immediately, so the skin should look fresher within a few days, but collagen remodelling will be maximal at the 3 to the 4-month mark. For best results we recommend 4 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart, depending on the type of peel.

The aim of chemical peels is to exfoliate, hydrate, and stimulate cell renewal and collagen formation – which occurs when a healing response is triggered. This cell turnover will help to restore the skin to a more youthful appearance, or give that healthy skin glow.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Age spots
Melasma
Large pores
Hyperpigmentation and uneven skin colouring
Acne
Scarring
Rough texture
Dull skin tone

You may not be a good candidate for chemical peeling if you have:

A history of abnormal skin scarring
A naturally dark complexion or skin tone
A tendency to have extra pigmentation of your scars
Used certain acne treatments within the last year.

What are the contra-indications?

A chemical peel should not be performed on clients that:

Have active cold sores or warts
Have open wounds, sunburns, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area to be treated.
Have a history of allergies, rashes, or other skin reactions, or may be sensitive to any of the components of this treatment.
Have an allergy to salicylates (i.e., aspirin). ( only for peels containing salicylates)
Have received chemotherapy or radiation therapy in the past year.
Pregnant or Breastfeeding women.

At YC we will discuss your skin concerns and design a peel program to specifically suit your skin type and needs.

Cosmedix Pomegranate Peel – a superficial peel designed to hydrate and brighten the skin pre-events. It’s a great peel to start with as its safe for sensitive skin types, as well as in pregnancy.

AlphaRet Peel – a 3 step, multi acid medical grade peel system in 2 different strengths, designed to strengthen, protect and remodel the skin’s texture. We plan and design the strength according to your skin type and response, and slowly increase the strength as tolerated.

Jessner Peel – a modified solution for a medium-depth peel intended to improve the appearance of pigmentation, scarring, wrinkles, and elasticity. Will be used in conjunction with our Alpharet system for a personalised peel plan.

CosMedix Timeless Peel –   a strong vitamin A based peel for a medium-depth treatment that works to increase cell turnover, as well as the skins ceramide production and moisture level, to give an age-defying, smooth-textured complexion for healthy skin.

For best results we recommend 4 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart, depending on the type of peel.

You will be started on active ingredients at least 4 weeks prior to treatment to prepare the skin.
Prepping the skin is important to optimise absorption of actives whilst minimising the risk of post-procedure irritation and hyperpigmentation. Its best to stop actives 3-5 days prior, or as per our instructions and your treatment plan. On the day its best to arrive without make-up if possible.

The process differs slightly depending on the type of peel, but in general we start with a deep cleanse, followed by a pre-peel solution to remove excess oil. We then mix the ingredients and apply your peel for the recommended amount of time (ranging from 3-15 minutes), after which we neutralise and remove it. Most clients will only feel some mild tingling or burning sensation when the peel is applied to the skin; however, the skin will feel warm and sensitive afterwards. The skin should feel back to normal within 24-48 hours.

To amplify the results, we recommend a Healite II treatment, followed by an approved serum or mask, depending on the type of peel.

An exception to the above is our Timeless peel, which is applied after first doing a pomegranate peel, then left on overnight. Mild peeling is expected around day 2-3.

Pre treatment preparation:
Prepare your skin using the recommended skincare products 2-4 weeks prior. Skin prep will depend on which peel regime you follow, so follow instructions given to you at the time of your consultation.
Avoid waxing, laser or IPL hair removal, depilatory creams and electrolysis the week prior.
Stop prescription retinol (topical vitamin A) or Hydroquinone (whitening creams) 3 -7 days prior – as advised.
Avoid excess sun exposure and solariums for 2 weeks prior, avoid fake tanning from 3 days prior.
Cease other active ingredients like exfoliants or retinol 2-3 days prior, as advised.

Post treatment aftercare:
Avoid hot showers, sauna, steam rooms, swimming pools and exercise for 24 hours.
Drink plenty of water to rehydrate your skin.
Use a gentle cleanser and avoid active ingredients (Vitamin A derivatives, Vitamin C and exfoliative ingredients) until skin feels back to normal. Skin hydration and SPF are essential. Restart your active skin care gradually; start with Vitamin B serum any time. After a week or so of normal skin, slowly introduce Vitamin A at night. Recommence Vitamin C in the mornings as tolerated.
Mineral make up can be applied 24 post treatment
Avoid anti-inflammatory medication as they interfere with the natural inflammatory process needed for optimum skin rejuvenation.
Avoid dermal treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, ipl, skin needling or dermal rolling for 2-4 weeks, if in doubt – ask us.
Results will become visible over time; we recommend a series of peels for optimal results.
Avoid sun exposure, SPF use is essential.
Do not pick the skin.

Ultraformer 3/

ULTRAFORMER is the world’s No. 1 system for ultrasound lifting, tightening and contouring and is the world’s only micro and macro-focused ultrasound system. Multi-functional cartridges delivering focused ultrasound energy at various depths treatment on both face and body areas with optimal speed, comfort and efficacy for collagen stimulation, dermal micro-coagulation, and subcutaneous fat micro-reduction.

This jump-starts a natural process, known as neo-collagenases, to produce fresh, new collagen, resulting in a clinically significant lifting and tightening of the skin over the following 2-3 months with ongoing improvements for up to 6 months.

When using a deeper transducer it can target fat cells in order to destroy them, allowing for body contouring and tightening.

Then Ultraformer 3 is a non-surgical treatment option for skin tightening. The treatment uses the body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift and tighten the skin.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Mild to moderate skin laxity (not severe)

Saggy jawline or jowls

Sagging under the chin

Loose skin on the neck

Lines or wrinkles on the chest

What are the contra-indications?

Ultraformer 3 cannot be used if you:

Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding

Have metal implants near the target area

Have open skin lesions or infections at the target area

Have Cystic Acne

We will assess your suitability for Ultraformer 3 treatments and discuss the relevant risks and benefits so you can make an informed choice.

After your treatment, you may see some initial effects, but the results will improve over 2-3 months, with ongoing improvements for up to 6 months as your body naturally regenerates collagen. Since the procedure stimulates your own collagen production, how long the results last really depends on you, but in general results will last a year or more. The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside. When targeting fat more then one session is needed, as it is a more painful procedure (deeper).

Results depend on the degree of skin laxity, the amount of fullness/fat present, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual’s collagen-building processes. Because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments are recommended to maintain results.

We will clean the skin, mark the areas for treatment, then slide a hand held device over the skin as energy is deposited into the skin at different depths.

As the ultrasound energy is delivered, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation generally only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. The skin might appear flushed at first, but any redness generally disappears within hours.

The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. A full-face procedure typically takes 45-60 minutes, while smaller areas like around the eyes might only need 20 minutes.

Some may experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are temporary in nature. The skin will feel tighter after treatment, and might even look tighter, but results will develop over 2-3 months, with ongoing improvement up to six months. More treatments can be performed if needed.

Pre treatment preparation:
Avoid waxing, laser or IPL hair removal, depilatory creams and electrolysis the week prior.
Avoid excess sun exposure and solariums for 2 weeks prior, avoid fake tanning from 3 days prior. sunburned or (recently) tanned skin cannot be treated.
Avoid chemical peels, ipl or laser 2 weeks prior to treatment
Some medications might make the skin more sensitive, check with us if you are taking any medication
Avoid bloodthinners for 1-2 weeks prior if possible
If you suffer from cold sores its recommend that you use Lyscine for 5 days post treatment and if you are very prone to cold sores

Post treatment aftercare:
Avoid overheating the skin (hot showers, saunas, direct sunlight, exercise), as well as avoiding irritants like spray tans, perfumes and chlorine.
You can take an antihistamine for swelling and apply Hirudoid ointment (available OTC at pharmacies) to bruising 4-5 times per day to speed up recovery.
Massaging the treatment area can be helpful to improve lympdrainage, and heallite II treatment is recommended to shorten the recovery time..
Drink more water, Take a break from alcohol

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It is a medical procedure that involves using a patient’s own blood to extract and concentrate platelets, which are a component of blood responsible for clotting and promoting healing.

In cosmetic applications, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is used to promote skin rejuvenation and improve the overall appearance of the skin. The concentrated platelet-rich plasma, obtained through the PRP procedure, contains growth factors and other bioactive proteins that are believed to have various beneficial effects on the skin.

When PRP is applied in cosmetic treatments, it can be injected into specific areas of the skin or administered topically through techniques like microneedling. The growth factors present in PRP help stimulate collagen production, which is essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness.

By promoting collagen synthesis, PRP injections can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. The increased collagen production can also improve the skin’s texture and tone, resulting in a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.

Furthermore, PRP may enhance the natural healing process of the skin, leading to improved skin quality and a reduction in hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone. It can also help with skin hydration and overall skin health.

It is important to note that the effectiveness of PRP in cosmetic procedures can vary from person to person. The results and benefits may depend on factors such as the individual’s skin condition, age, overall health, and the specific technique used by the healthcare professional.

PRP treatments are commonly used to address concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, uneven skin tone, and texture irregularities. If you have these specific skin issues, PRP may be a potential treatment option for you.

It is important to note that the effectiveness of PRP in cosmetic procedures can vary from person to person. The results and benefits may depend on factors such as the individual’s skin condition, age, overall health, and the specific technique used by the healthcare professional.

The duration of the effects of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatments in cosmetic applications can vary depending on several factors, including the individual’s skin condition, age, lifestyle, and the specific treatment performed. Generally, the effects of PRP treatment can last anywhere from a few months to over a year. Here are some key points to consider:

1.Treatment Response: The response to PRP treatment can vary among individuals. Some individuals may experience longer-lasting effects, while others may require more frequent treatments to maintain the desired results.

2.Treatment Protocol: The treatment protocol recommended by your healthcare provider can also impact the longevity of the results. In some cases, a series of PRP treatments performed over a specified period may be recommended to achieve optimal outcomes. Regular maintenance treatments may also be advised to sustain the desired effects.

3.Lifestyle Factors: Lifestyle factors, such as sun exposure, smoking, skincare routine, and overall skin care practices, can influence the longevity of the results. Protecting the skin from sun damage, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and following a good skincare regimen can help extend the benefits of PRP treatments.

4.Skin Ageing Process: It’s important to note that PRP treatments cannot halt the natural ageing process. Over time, the effects of PRP may gradually diminish as the skin continues to age. Regular follow-up treatments or combination approaches with other cosmetic procedures may be recommended to address ongoing skin concerns.

On the day of your PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) cosmetic treatment, you can generally expect the following process:

1.Consultation: Depending on your healthcare provider’s practices, you may have a consultation scheduled before the treatment day or on the same day. During the consultation, your provider will assess your skin concerns, discuss your goals and expectations, review your medical history, and answer any questions you may have.

2.Preparation: Once you are ready for the treatment, the area to be treated will be cleansed thoroughly to ensure a clean and sterile environment. Your healthcare provider may also apply a topical numbing cream to minimise any potential discomfort during the procedure.

3.Blood Collection: A small amount of blood will be drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test. The blood is typically collected in a specialised tube or vial.

4.Centrifugation: The collected blood will then be placed in a centrifuge machine, which spins at a high speed to separate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from other blood components. This process usually takes around 10-15 minutes.

5.Application: Once the PRP is prepared, your healthcare provider will begin the application process based on the treatment plan. This can involve either injecting the PRP into specific areas of the skin or applying it topically after microneedling. The entire procedure typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area and technique used.

6.Recovery and Results: After the PRP treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling, or mild discomfort in the treated area. These effects are generally temporary and should subside within a few days. The full results of PRP treatments may take several weeks to months to become noticeable, as the skin undergoes the rejuvenation process.

Pre treatment preparation:

To ensure optimal PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) levels for your procedure, you can take the following steps:

Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Engaging in regular exercise, getting enough sleep, and managing stress levels can contribute to overall well-being and potentially enhance PRP levels.

Follow a balanced diet: Consuming a nutritious diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can support optimal blood health and improve PRP levels. Include a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats in your diet.

Hydrate properly: Stay well-hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water daily. Proper hydration can optimise blood volume and flow, potentially leading to better PRP levels.

Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption: Smoking and excessive alcohol intake can negatively impact blood circulation and overall health, which may affect PRP levels. It’s advisable to refrain from smoking and limit alcohol consumption before your cosmetic procedure.

Avoid blood-thinning medications: Certain medications and supplements can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising during the PRP procedure. Your healthcare provider may advise you to avoid blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain herbal supplements, for a specified period before the treatment.

Post: Aftercare

After undergoing a PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) procedure, it is important to follow proper aftercare instructions to support healing and optimise the results. While specific guidelines may vary depending on the treatment area and individual circumstances, here are some general aftercare recommendations:

Protect the treated area: Avoid touching, rubbing, or scratching the treated area to minimise the risk of infection and irritation. Protect the skin from excessive sun exposure by wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF and using protective clothing or a hat.

Avoid strenuous activities: Refrain from engaging in vigorous exercise or activities that may cause excessive sweating for a few days after the procedure. This helps to prevent irritation or disruption of the treated area.

Gentle cleansing: Cleanse the treated area gently using Advance Skin MD Gentle Cleanse or as advised by your healthcare provider. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleansers that can irritate the skin. Pat the area dry with a clean towel, being careful not to rub or scrub.

Moisturise: Apply a gentle and non-irritating moisturiser to keep the treated area hydrated. Choose a product recommended by your healthcare provider or one that is suitable for your skin type. We recommend Advanced Skin MD Daily Defence.

Depending on the specific instructions from your provider, you may need to avoid using makeup or certain skincare products on the treated area for a specified period. Follow their guidance to allow the skin to heal and minimise the risk of irritation or infection.

Skin Needling - CIT/

Skin needling, also known as microneedling / mesotherapy or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), works by introducing needles into the skin to create micro-injuries in the dermis.

This action activates the skin’s natural wound healing process by releasing fibroblasts and growth factors that create collagen and elastin, causing progressive improvement in the texture and thickness of the skin. At YC we use a TGA approved pen with sterile, one-use-only cartridges with steel needles to administer the treatment. The depth of the needles and rate of penetration can be adjusted to suit the area being treated.

Skin needling can be performed on all skin types and colours, including sensitive skin.
Results include thicker, tighter and smoother skin, increased blood flow to areas of poor healing, minimized appearance of scars (including acne) and fine lines and increased penetration of serums and moisturizers.

Other results can include minimized stretch marks and hair loss. Skin needling can be repeated every 4-6- weeks as long as the epidermis is healed; however, collagen formation can continue for up to 12 months after one treatment.

The aim of all skin needling is to produce collagen, which occurs when a healing response is triggered in the dermis.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Acne scarring
Stretch marks
Fine lines
Crepey skin
Enlarged pores
Blackheads
Hair loss

What are the contra-indications?

Skin Needling cannot be used if you:

Have broken or inflamed skin
Have auto-immune skin conditions
Have bleeding disorders
Are immunosuppressed, take Roaccutane, or have scars less than 6 months old

At YC we will assess your suitability for skin needling and discuss the relevant risks and benefits so you can make an informed decision..

Collagen induction will start immediately, but collagen remodelling will be maximal at the 3 to the 4-month mark. To achieve the best results, we recommend 3-4 sessions spaced 4- 6 weeks apart, then twice a year for maintenance.

The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside. Because skin continues to age, future treatments can help clients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.

You will be started on active ingredients at least 4 weeks prior to treatment to prepare the skin.

Prior to treatment, we might apply a special local anaesthetic cream for 30 minutes, which will make the treatment comfortable. Some people find no need for topical anaesthetic as the treatment is so quick. Each session takes around  15 minutes to perform, followed by a heallite session and a soothing repair serum.

Moderate redness and swelling can be expected 24 to 48 hours after the procedure, and flaking, peeling or crusting can occur 3 to 5 days post-procedure. It is important to follow the skincare instructions given post skin needling.

Pre treatment preparation:
Prepare your skin using the recommended skincare products 4 weeks prior.

Avoid waxing, laser or IPL hair removal, depilatory creams and electrolysis the week prior.

Stop prescription retinol (topical vitamin A) or Hydroquinone (whitening creams) 2 days prior – or as advised.

Avoid excess sun exposure and solariums for 2 weeks prior, avoid fake tanning from 7 days prior.

Cease other active ingredients like exfoliants or retinol 1-2 days prior, or as advised.

Post treatment aftercare:
Avoid hot showers, sauna, steam rooms, and exercise for 24 hours, and swimming pools and outdoor sports for 1 week.

After a week or so of normal skin, slowly introduce

Vitamin A at night. Recommence

Vitamin C in the mornings as tolerated.

Tixel®

Tixel® harnesses the power of pure heat and motion to regenerate & rejuvenate the skin – safely, non-invasively, and effectively in comparison with traditional fractionated carbon dioxide lasers.

Unlike other therapies currently available, Tixel is not a laser, ultrasound, or radio-frequency device, instead it employs a specially designed titanium tip to either generate micropores to aid absorption of products (mesotherapy), or generate coagulative sites that results in new skin formation and collagen production.

Tixel can be tailored for individual skin concerns and how much down time you can allow.

Treatment options:

Tixel – Glow: ( Open-channel)

Micropores or micro-channels are created to stimulate the production of collagen, encourage collagen remodelling & improve skin quality. The channels formed can be used to deliver active ingredients to the deeper layers of the skin more effectively. Device-assisted drug delivery is also made possible with this treatment to improve conditions such as rosacea or melasma.

Tixel – medium (Non-ablative)

Superficial layers of the skin resulting in improving skin ageing/sun-damage, tightening of sagging upper eyelids and improving crepiness of lower eyelids. Other body parts such as neck and hands can also be treated. This treatment can also be used around the eyes to stimulate the tearducts and relieve dry eye syndrome.

Tixel – intense (Fractionated Ablation)

At higher settings, Tixel produce similar results to a traditional fractionated carbon dioxide ablative laser but with less discomfort, less downtime and reduced risks of complications. More significant skin conditions such as sun-damaged skin, acne scars and facial lines can be improved.

Tixel tightens the skin (dermis) and this improves fine lines, wrinkles, pores, acne scars and skin sagging. It also regenerates the skin (epidermis) and produces even skin tone, whilst reducing pigmentation and other blemishes, including active acne.

You are a candidate if you are concerned about:

Sagging upper eyelid
Laxity of the lower eyelid
Sun damage (photo-ageing)
Acne scars
Fine lines
Dilated pores
General skin rejuvenation/tightening
Pigmentation/melasma
Rosacea
Dry eye syndrome
Infusion/Delivery of active skincare/topical medication

What are the contra-indications?

Tixel cannot be used if you:
Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Have recently tanned your skin (wait 4 weeks)
Have just had toxin or dermal fillers (wait 2 weeks)
Have used oral isotretinoin within 3 months prior to treatment.

We will assess your suitability for Tixel treatments and discuss the relevant risks and benefits so you can make an informed choice.

We will then discuss the intensity options as well as your pain threshold and possible downtime.

Tixel is a course of treatments rather than a single treatment. The number of treatments will depend on the intensity; for a milder treatment we recommend 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, and for a more intense treatment we recommend 2-3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

Results are visible after 1 week, but in some areas it will take a few treatments to see a visible result. The final review will be 3 months after the last treatment.

The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside. Because skin continues to age, we recommend a repeat treatment every 6-12 months (depending on the initial intensity and results) to maintain results.

We might advise you to apply topical anaesthetic 20 minutes prior to your treatment, but most people find the treatment very tolerable and report 2/10 pain at most.  On the day your skin will be cleaned (please do not wear make-up), and several shots, each lasting a fraction of a second, are placed in rows to cover the whole area being treated. The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment. A full face treatment might take 30 minutes, whilst a peri-orbital treatment might only take 5-10 minutes.

A tiny sting and heat might be felt with each shot. Afterwards the skin will be red and swollen and feel like a sunburn. This might last an hour or two with a light treatment, while it could last up to 24 hours with a more intense treatment. Tiny grid marks (microcrusts) will be visible once the redness settles, these can be present for 3-5 days before flaking off (longer with more intense treatments). You will be given aftercare instructions but in general you might need to keep the skin hydrated with a recommended ointment or balm for 24 (to 48 hours, if treatment was more intense), avoid make up for at least 24 hours, and avoid using active ingredients for 72 hours.

It is imperative to avoid excessive sun exposure and use Regular sunblock.

Pre treatment prep:
Prepare your skin using the recommended skincare products 4 weeks prior.
Avoid waxing, laser or IPL hair removal, depilatory creams and electrolysis the week prior.
Stop prescription retinol (topical vitamin A) or Hydroquinone (whitening creams) 3 days prior -or as advised.
Avoid excess sun exposure and solariums for 2 weeks prior, avoid fake tanning from 3 days prior.
Cease other active ingredients like exfoliants or retinol 2-3 days prior, as advised.

Post treatment aftercare:
Treatment intensity can be adjusted – the skin reaction afterwards will depend upon the intensity of the settings selected, which we would have discussed with you prior to treatment.

The skin will feel red, hot and swollen like sunburn. With milder treatments the intensity of the heat settles after an hour or two, while it might take a day or two with more intense treatments. Eyelids may swell for a few hours, or up to a day or two in some, but do not apply cold packs as it can reduce the thermal benefits of the treatment.

Antihistamines may be used if necessary.

Once redness settles fine microcrusts may be visible for 3-7 days before flaking off, but can take longer with more intense (ablative) treatments. Skin will feel dry and like sandpaper, apply recommended moisturiser as needed, but DO NOT rub or peel crusting off, as it will impair the healing process.

Around 1 week you may gently exfoliate just using a facecloth.

Note: With “Open Channel” treatments the skin remains porous(open) for 4-6 hours post treatment, so only use recommended products during this time.

Treatment close to the lip may induce the reappearance of cold sores, we recommend the use of Lyscine for 5 days pre and post treatment, and Famvir (1500mg) on the treatment day.

Avoid overheating the skin (hot showers, saunas, direct sunlight, exercise), as well as avoiding irritants like spray tans, perfumes and chlorine.

Mineral make up can be applied 24-48hr post treatment – depending on the treatment intensity – as advised on the day of treatment.

Avoid sun exposure, SPF use is essential.

Results will become visible over time, we recommend 3- 4 treatments, spaced 5-8 weeks apart, note for treating eyelid laxity we recommend 5-6 treatments. We advise treatment every 6-12 months to maintain results.

Energy Based Devices/

If you eat a healthy, varied diet full of a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and meat, and if you have no problems with your digestive system, chances are you are getting enough nutrients in your diet to maintain good health.

In reality, most of us go through periods where our diet is less than optimal, we face stresses of various kinds that affect our digestion, from too much acid in our stomach to gut inflammation due to certain medications, or we take antibiotics which disrupts the normal ‘good’ bacteria that play an essential role in breaking food down into nutrients small enough for absorption.

Undiagnosed food intolerances also cause damage to the finger like projections in our intestinal system, responsible for absorbing helpful nutrients, but also responsible for ensuring harmful toxins do not get absorbed. This causes so called ‘leaky gut’ syndrome.

On top of this, we might be drinking too much alcohol at times, affecting our livers’ ability to process and remove toxins from our system. Given all of these various factors, it is reasonable to presume that all of us, at times, will not be getting or absorbing the optimal amount of nutrients necessary to maintain good health.

IV infusions deliver nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing obstacles in the digestive system that might hinder optimal absorption. This means much higher concentrations of vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids in our bloodstream compared with what’s achieved with oral delivery – even in a normal functioning digestive system. Not only can it treat any underlying nutrient deficits, some benefits of micronutrients are only seen at higher concentrations, like the anti-viral effect of vitamin C, the skin benefits associated with glutathione, and the mood stabilising effects of NAD.

More recently, we have also seen an explosion of research looking at the anti-ageing affect of micronutrients at higher concentrations, the idea being that we can potentially prevent or reverse DNA damage on a cellular level if we can neutralise the free radicals that cause most of the damage. At high concentrations, they act as powerful antioxidants, neutralising the damaging effect of free radicals within our cells, which in turn leads to better energy levels, mental clarity or focus, and can help with managing stress more effectively.

We can modify the type and amount of nutrients in the drip based on your main concerns, to make sure it’s the best treatment for you.

Once you’ve booked a treatment, we will send you a questionnaire to fill out, so that we can ensure that you are a good candidate for an IV infusion, and decide which combination of nutrients would suit your needs best. We might give you a call to ask more questions if needed.

IV infusions are safe if administered correctly by a skilled medical professional in those without contra-indications. After reviewing your medical history and discussing the treatment plan with Dr Ansulette, our registered nurse Idalette will insert, administer, and closely monitor the drip. In general we do not offer infusions to those with abnormal renal or liver function, and we generally avoid it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless we have a letter from your usual doctor.

At Youthful Concepts we do not want to interfere with the role of your General Practitioner, so we cannot offer IV infusions to anyone with underlying medical conditions not already investigated by your usual doctor. We might refer you back to your doctor for a blood test if your symptoms suggest a more serious medical condition.

If you have a stable medical condition we would like a copy of your most recent blood test if possible. If you don’t have any medical conditions there is no need for a blood test prior to the infusion.

If you have any questions please give us a call on 0406 951 926

On the treatment day we suggest you arrive well hydrated, and make sure you’ve had some food at least 1 hour prior to the infusion. We will take some baseline observations, discuss and do the consent form if it’s your first time, and then our registered nurse Idelette will pop a tiny cannula into your arm, and connect it to an IV drip. Most vitamins will run in over 30 minutes, but we can speed it up or slow it down if needed, and as tolerated.

Some infusions have different protocols, like NAD, which is administered slower in order to avoid some adverse effects. We often give an anti nausea wafer with NAD as it can cause nausea, and we will monitor you more closely the first time you try this infusion, as the effects will be different for everyone. The side effects will cease as soon as the infusion stops, and you can go back to your usual day straight away.

Starting from $275.00

After a vitamin infusion, those with deficiencies might feel better straight away, whilst others might only notice it the next day. Those who do not have underlying deficiencies might still report feeling better due to the antioxidant effects of the nutrients. This might mean feeling more hydrated, reporting better energy levels, improved sleep, better mood and faster recovery post illness or exercise.

Some people might feel tired or unwell post certain infusions, these patients are generally in the process of detoxifying, so they might feel worse before they feel better, and we recommend to drink 4-6 glasses of water post-infusion to help dilute toxins, and repeat the infusion a week later. Adding glutathione to infusions will help with neutralising toxins more effectively.
