treatments/
Whether you would like to prevent or treat the signs of ageing, or whether you would like to glamorise your look, by considering your budget and prioritising your needs, Dr Ansulette will advise you on how to invest your money in the best way to achieve the look you will love!
ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS/
As we age, our expression (dynamic) lines become deeper and stronger–and eventually, lines become permanent (static)–due to the forces of the muscle contraction on the skin over time.
Injectable muscle relaxants work by relaxing the facial muscles that contracts and cause wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines and lines around the eyes (crow’s feet). Or can be used in the lower face to relax the chin, tighten the jawline and prevent teeth grinding.
You are a candidate if you are concerned about:
Forehead Lines
Forehead lines can be tricky to treat as the muscle responsible for causing these lines is also responsible for raising the eyebrows. This means that too much relaxation can cause the brow to drop, a complication that can be avoided by experienced injectors. Dr Ansulette Kay assesses patients very carefully to determine their risk, and if suitable for treatment, she will place the injections very carefully in order to relax the lines without compromising the position of the brow. Depending on the starting position of the brow, the result to aim for in some might be more of a ‘softening’ of the lines, rather than a completely ‘smooth’ look. To achieve the best results without the brow looking or feeling ‘heavy’, Dr Ansulette Kay prefers to also treat the frown muscles, as well as the muscles under the eyebrow responsible for pulling the brow down, as this will allow the eyes to open up for a refreshed yet natural look.
Brow Lift/Eyebrow Shaping
As we age our brows tend to droop over time, partly because of skin laxity and gravity, but also as a result of the action of the Orbicularis Occuli muscle around the eye, pulling the brow downwards. Carefully placed injections can relax the depressors around the eyes which in turn allow the brow elevators to lift the brow higher.
Frown Lines
Frown lines are caused by 3 powerful muscles pulling inwards and downwards. For many people frowning becomes a habit ( some people even frown in their sleep!) – causing lines that make them look worried and stressed even when they are not. Treating the frown with muscle relaxing injections can help to break the habit, and relaxing these muscles results in softening of the lines as well as slight elevation of the brow medially – giving a fresh and relaxed look.
Crows Feet
The Orbicularis Occuli muscle around the eye is responsible for the wrinkles around our eyes when we squint or smile. Dr Ansulette can carefully place injections around the eye to relax this muscle, which in turn relaxes the lines, and creates a fresh look.
Bunny Lines
The fine lines that develop over the bridge of the nose as we squint ( or in some people when they smile) can be prevented or relaxed with carefully placed injections on the nose.
Gummy Lines
The fine lines that develop over the bridge of the nose as we squint ( or in some people when they smile) can be prevented or relaxed with carefully placed injections on the nose.
Dimply Chin and Mental Crease
Relaxing the mentalis muscle will improve the appearance of the mental crease, and prevent the popply chin look.
Jaw Line Definition/Nerfertiti
Carefully placed muscle relaxant injections on the jawline decrease the depressor effect (pulling down) of the platysma muscle and allows the skin to drape over the jaw bone in a more defined way.
Facial slimming/Prominent Masseters/Teeth Grinding
If you grind your teeth the chances are that you will have hypertrophy of the masseter muscle (you can feel this muscle by biting down on your teeth and feeling the corner of your jaw). Large masseters can lead to a more masculine look by creating a square facial shape. Carefully injecting muscle relaxants into the masseter muscles will prevent or decrease teeth grinding and reshape the face to achieve a more flattering oval appearance.
Neck Bands
Injections into prominent bands will relax them and soften the appearance of the neck.
Sweat Reduction Injections /Axillary Hyperhidrosis
Many people suffer from excessive underarm sweating which can be embarrassing and debilitating. Injections into the armpits will relieve excessive sweating for 6-9 months.
Injectable muscle relaxants work by relaxing the facial muscles that contracts and cause wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines and lines around the eyes (crows feet).
Dr Ansulette Kay injects a purified protein into the muscles, which blocks the nerve signals that would normally make these muscles contract, resulting in a relaxed, youthful look. Fine lines will gradually smooth and ongoing treatments will help prevent wrinkles from forming again.
There are many different fillers available and depending on the type of filler chosen, the area to be treated and some individual variation, they can last from 6 months to over 24 months.
The result is not permanent because the nerve ending re-establishes it’s signalling by forming new nerve sprouts. This sprouting takes approximately 3-6 months, at which point the muscle regains its activity and the wrinkles begin to reappear.

FILLERS/
As we age, the underlying fat and bone of the face slowly starts to shrink and recede. As a result, our skin loses its support structure and sags. Strategic placement of fillers to address these underlying changes can help to “redrape” the skin and therefore lift the face.
You are a candidate if you are concerned about:
Wrinkles and or Lines
The injectable gel is placed below the skin’s surface to literally ‘fill in’ or ‘plump up’ the static wrinkles and folds that are present at rest. This diminishes the depth of wrinkles and creates a smoother more refreshed facial appearance.
Feeling Saggy
Ageing affects all the layers of our face, not just the skin. Apart from changes in our fat pads (deflation, sagging), there is significant bone resorption (loss) which results in less support to the overlying soft tissues. So you effectively end up with a bigger tablecloth on a smaller table! By carefully choosing the right filler for the right area, we can provide strength in areas lacking support, and by reinflating the fat pads, we restore youthful curves for a fresh yet natural result.
Lack of definition and/or imperfections
Carefully placed injections can hide imperfections like a bumpy nose or a weak chin, whilst other injections can be used to add definition and/or create harmony – for a natural yet glamorous look.
Preventing Ageing
Small amounts of filler placed in the correct way can protect against the formation of permanent lines, especially around the lips and mouth. Don’t wait until it’s too late – protect your smile from the inside out.
Lip lines and/or volume loss
Carefully placed filler injections will volumise, restore and rejuvenate your lips so that you can keep wearing your favourite lippy without worrying about lipstick bleeding. The natural-looking results will also help maintain facial balance and harmony, often compromised by the signs of ageing.
Hand Rejuvenation
Apart from the face and neck, the hand is the most visible unclothed area of the body, and often the first area to show the signs of ageing.
Clients complain of pigmentation and thinning skin, but also notice prominent veins, joints and tendons due to the loss of soft tissue volume. Volume restoration can be achieved by carefully injecting dermal fillers into the affected areas, providing rejuvenation in an instant. Prescription creams can address the superficial skin concerns.
HA filler is a gel made up of hyaluronic acid chains (like sugar chains) similar to the chains in the collagen of your skin. Injecting the gel correctly can instantly refresh and rejuvenate your appearance by smoothing unwanted lines, restoring natural contours and replacing lost volume.
Fillers can also be used to enhance some of your facial features, such as lips and cheeks. With subtle and strategically placed injections, the gel will contour and define lips and cheeks, at the same time keeping your appearance natural-looking, symmetrical and well-balanced.
HA filler will naturally break down over time but can be dissolved if needed. There are a variety of HA fillers on the market with different properties and longevity. Dr Ansulette will choose the most appropriate filler for your bespoke treatment plan.
There are many different fillers available. Depending on the type of filler chosen, the area to be treated and some individual variation, they can last from 6 months to over 24 months.
Treatments with fillers are non-surgical, and generally quick, simple and comfortable due to the inclusion of lidocaine – a localized pain reliever. The treatment involves subtle and strategically placed injections under the skin to restore and boost individual facial features. Results are visible immediately but will settle in and improve over the following days as the gel integrates with the skin.
There is a small risk of bruising and swelling – Dr Ansulette’s general advice is to do fillers at least 2 weeks prior to any special event, to ensure the treatment has time to settle.
Will Filler treatment hurt?
Some patients may experience a mild stinging or burning sensation as the product is injected. This is reduced significantly by the application of a cooling device and/or anaesthetic cream before treatment.

SKIN BOOSTERS/
Our skin contains collagen, elastin and reticular fibres that give the skin its strength and flexibility. Hyaluronic acid also plays an essential role in the way our skin looks, feels and functions. It retains water like a sponge, helping to hydrate our skin, improving overall appearance.
As we age, our hyaluronic acid and collagen production slows down – causing the skin to lose elasticity and hydration. This leads to thinning of the skin, fine lines, and enlarged pores. Skin becomes dull and might feel rough, dry and even leathery.
Skin boosters were specifically designed to address skin elasticity and hydration, to repair the damage and improve skin quality.
You are a candidate if you are concerned about:
Poor skin quality and elasticity
Rough skin texture
Dry, sensitive skin
Enlarged pores
Crepey skin
Fine Lines
One treatment lasts 6 to 9 months after which your treatment can be repeated.
The treatment consists of a number of superficial injections administered with tiny needles across the treatment areas in a grid like fashion. Dr Ansulette uses topical anaesthetic to minimize discomfort, and lidocaine within the skin booster provide further comfort. The actual treatment typically is around 30 minutes, but appointment time is longer to allow for pre-treatment questions, numbing procedures, and post-procedure care.
There is a small risk of bruising and swelling, and some bumps might take a few hours to settle. Results will become visible around 10-14 days and will improve over the first month. Dr Ansulette’s general advice is to do skin booster treatments at least 2 weeks prior to any special event, to ensure the treatment has time to settle.
