What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable treatment with a high concentration of stabilised hyaluronic acid. Once injected, it spreads through the skin and increases hydration by attracting water molecules, similar to skin boosters. What makes it different is the bio-stimulatory effect it has on dermal cells, leading to the remodelling of aging and sagging tissue.

It’s perfect for targeting fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and saggy skin and promotes firmer and fresher-looking skin from the inside out.

How does Profhilo work?

Essentially, Profhilo is a skin-renewing injectable moisturiser that uses the power of hyaluronic acid to stimulate production of elastin and collagen and boost hydration in the three main layers of skin. This, in turn, reduces fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, saggy skin and promotes firmer and overall fresher-looking skin from the inside out.

Dr Ansulette says!

I love Profhilo because it offers a unique, injectable skin treatment that contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. How good it that!

Profhilo is designed to migrate and spread through the face, giving a smooth effect rather than filling. I have found that this treatment has helped me to achieve a more youthful appearance by smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

Additionally, the high concentration of hyaluronic acid has helped to improve my skin’s hydration levels, resulting in a plumper, more radiant complexion – pretty awesome right? I am so pleased with the results of this treatment and would recommend it to anyone looking for a non-invasive way to achieve younger-looking skin.

Let's talk Profhilo and Hyaluronic Acid?

Luckily, there are now treatments available that can help to replenish the skin’s hyaluronic acid levels. One such treatment is Profhilo – an injectable treatment that can help to improve skin quality and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the human body, it’s a building block of collagen, in fact, half of our body’s hyaluronic acid can be found in the skin, mostly within the deeper layers of the dermis. Healthy levels of hyaluronic acid will result in healthy looking skin – plump and glowing.

As we age, it’s not just our skin that changes – our entire physiology does. One of the most important changes that occur is a decrease in the production of hyaluronic acid. While this may not sound like a big deal at first, it actually has a significant impact on our skin. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for keeping our skin hydrated and plump. Without it, our skin starts to lose elasticity, and wrinkles begin to appear. This decrease in hyaluronic acid production is why skincare products that contain this ingredient are so popular – they can help to slow down the ageing process.

Profhilo contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid compared with other HA gels and is unique in that it is not cross linked, and contains no chemical stabilizers, which means it can spread through the skin easily without causing inflammation.

Is Profhilo Safe?

Yes! Profhilo is a safe and effective treatment for many patients seeking to improve the appearance of their skin. The dual forms of hyaluronic acid used in Profhilo are bonded in such a way that the L-HA is released very slowly, making it biocompatible and unlikely to trigger an inflammatory response.

Additionally, the BAP technique used to inject Profhilo requires only 5 injections on each side of the face, spread widely apart, resulting in less soreness and swelling post-injection.

While there is a small chance of experiencing stinging and minor inflammation at the injection site afterwards, Profhilo is a safe and effective treatment for many patients.
