Due to regulations around S4 prescription medication we cannot name this product, but the active ingredient is synthesized deoxycholic acid – a naturally occurring compound in bile that helps to break down dietary fat. The actual treatment consists of a number of injections, customized to suit your anatomy, and once the area is numbed, only takes a few minutes.
Dr Ansulette uses both topical and local anaesthetic to ensure that the injections cause minimal discomfort during treatment, but the area will be swollen and tender for a few days post treatment. Which is why it’s perfect for those working from home at the moment!
Most candidates will need 2 to 4 treatments spaced at least 8 weeks apart. Results for most will only become visible after the second treatment, so when considering costs, do keep this in mind.
The number of treatments you will need depend on the size of the area and the extent of the fullness under your chin.
Once the aesthetic goal is achieved, re-treatment is not expected. Those with good skin quality and mild to moderate submental fullness are the best candidates for this treatment.
