I’m a huge fan of devices that deliver energy into the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the surface, as it gives results without downtime.
We all want that 2 finger facelift… we look in the mirror, place two fingers in front of our ears and push upwards – we see lifting of our Nasolabial folds and jowls, and better jawline definition.
For patients with volume loss, we can create that lift by using filler to restore volume and give support. Still, for many, it’s not a volume loss issue… there’s good volume, but it shifted downwards with age. The loss of skin integrity contributes to the saggy jawline.

But how does it actually work?
High intensity focussed ultrasound penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, delivering pockets of energy that firstly heats the tissues – this causes collagen to contract, which in turn tightens the skin; and secondly – the tiny micro-injuries trigger a natural healing response for collagen and elastin production that continues up to 6 months post-treatment, and creates a lifting effect as the skin integrity improves.
